Rhythm of the River Music and Arts Festival
July 17th and 18th
close
The Rhythm of the River is back for the third time! In 2006, this two day festival at Ashley Park in Jackson, attracted thousands as part of Jackson’s Sesquicentennial Celebration. That year, all of the bands had a personal connection to Jackson. It was a fabulous reunion, with everyone literally feeling the ‘rhythm’ of the river that flows through us. 2008 brought the Rhythm back! The community called for it, so bands from up and down the river, gathered together. Even the rain couldn't stop the rhythm. Our goals include offering a variety of music and art for all ages, exposing festival goers to new music, singer/songwriters, as well as familiar tunes. We celebrate our cultural heritage, and welcome everyone to celebrate the beauty of the City of Jackson and our little bend in the Des Moines River. Make the 2009 Rhythm of the River part of your summer fun!
