| Kettleson Hogsback Wildlife Area is very popular with all nature lovers. It is three miles north and one mile west of Spirit Lake. Its a great place to hunt, fish, bird-watch, canoe, hike, cross-country ski or swim. |

Cayler Prairie is six miles west and two miles south of Spirit Lake, featuring 160 acres of natural prairie, with more than 200 plant species. Cayler Prairie is one of Iowas last natural prairies. The National Park Service registered it as a Natural Landmark.

Kenue Park is a savannah area with meadows, glacial kame and hardwood and deciduous trees. The park is situated in the heart of Dickinson County, north of the town of Okoboji, one mile west of US Hwy. 71 on 170th Street. Visitors will find picnic areas and a nature/jogging trail around the park perimeter, with self-guided physical fitness stations along the trail.

| For year around fun, visit Horseshoe Bend. This recreational area and park is three miles south of Milford on US Hwy. 71, then four miles west on 240th Street. Horseshoe Bend is bisected by the Little Sioux River and includes 180 acres of lowland and upland forests, meadows and marshes. Visitors enjoy the use of three-season shelter houses, mowed trails, a bird-watching blind and other wildlife and habitat areas. Tubing and skiing are popular in the winter.
